Mark "Marco" Whittier
After careers as an educator and a marketing executive, Mark has turned his attention to three of his favorite passions – Italy, food and wine – passions too wonderful not to share. He has been traveling in Italy at least annually for the last fifteen years, scouting out wineries, historic hill towns, classic cities, great restaurants, museums and art centers,...not to mention learning the language and befriending local chefs, wine experts and local licensed guides.
Along the way, he has earned certificates from both the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators and is prepared to offer you an unusually in-depth look into the wines of the region.
Although he has organized trips from the Cinque Terre to the Amalfi Coast and from Venice to Puglia; Tuscany - its people, scenery, history and cuisine - remains his favorite destination and is most often the heart of his small group tours.
